How could these young people from Liverpool have changed the world? Through their songs and their actions. The Beatles are not only a musical icon, they're also an icon of humanity (Remember, John Lennon was also known as a icon of peace). The government of the Soviet Union once banned the Beatles, because the Beatles were not just a band, but a cultural event in a century that might undermine communism.
